Cannot create "New Folder" in mapped shared network drive for certain user
For reference" Server is running 2008 Standard SP2 / Workstation is running Windows 7 Preface: Users are urged to save all word and excel documents to the server's shared network drive (in this case the U: Drive), all users are set up the same way and all user configurations seem to be similar. There is another network drive that contains some applications(in this case G: Drive). Problem: A specific user cannot save any documents to his profile on the network drive. I cannot even create a "New Folder" in his profile. One message was, Unable to create the folder "New Folder" system could not find specified file. Other said, You do not have permission to modify these files, Contact administrator per permission to access files. He had this problem on his profile at a different workstation, but as I said; it appears there is no difference in his user configurations than that of any other user who can successfuly save to network drive?!? I created a test document and it is saved to his desktop in "Documents" However, when I try to drag and drop into the network drive profile, the file disappears as if no action was taken. Also am not allowed to copy or cut and paste file to network drive either. While logged in his profile on the workstation I can see the application folders in the other network drive(G:), and can create, delete, rename, etc.. those folders. Back at server, I can see other files and the "New Folder" in the active directoryfor this particular user; it appears I just can't see files in that user network profile on that workstations Where am i going wrong?
